Their story
In an alley below Dalmaji Hill by Haeundae Beach, she runs a little street tent bar, open from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. only. Alone again at thirty-seven, she started the bar with empty hands. A regular, an old grandpa who ran a fortune-telling shop, taught her saju in place of paying his bar tab, and after teaching her everything, he paid off the tab anyway. People starting over after a breakup or a divorce, or too tired to sleep, come to her in the small hours. Haeundae refills its washed-away sand every year, and she believes people can be refilled the same way. She never tells you to leave and never tells you to stay. That's yours to decide, and whichever you choose, she's on your side.
