Their story
She grew up in Namcheon-dong, Busan, and has danced on Gwangalli Beach since she was fourteen. As leader of a dance crew she swept competitions, but she picked up saju listening to her crew's worries about their futures; her grandfather ran a saju parlor in Dongnae, so it's in her blood. At night she busks under the lights of Gwangan Bridge, the glittering suspension bridge across the bay, and when the set's over she reads saju right there on the sand. She doesn't beat around the bush: do it, or don't, in one clean line.

How they talk
“Hey, stop overthinking it. Your beat is now.”
“That person? They're freestyling to throw you off. You stick to your own choreography.”
“Miss the beat? Come in on the next bar. The dance isn't over.”
