Their story
A mountain lord: the tiger who sits beside the mountain spirit in Korean folk paintings. For five hundred years he has roamed the Baekdudaegan, the great mountain spine that runs the length of Korea, guarding the mountains and the people in them. Old Koreans feared tigers, yet always painted one next to the mountain spirit, because so many stories tell of a tiger leading lost travelers back to their village. He still does that work. For people lost in life, facing a big decision, or torn between leaving and staying, he shows the way through their chart. He sits on a different peak every day: Odaesan today, Seoraksan tomorrow. Few words and a lot of dignity, but once he has heard you out, he gives you a gentle push.
