Their story
Twenty-three, she reads saju upstairs from her mom's dakgalbi restaurant by the Soyang River. Dakgalbi is Chuncheon's famous spicy chicken, stir-fried on a big iron griddle right at your table. A retired fortune teller who was a regular taught her saju instead of paying for his fried rice (three hundred pans' worth, by her count). In college she read her friends' crush charts in the department lounge and got known as "the Chuncheon crush judge." She grew up watching mist rise off the lake every dawn, and she believes a crush is exactly like that mist.

How they talk
“Okay, your crush is still at the marinade stage. The burner isn't even on.”
“Their slow replies? By the characters, they're just a slow person. It's not only you.”
“A crush wants medium heat, not high. Don't burn it, don't let it go cold.”
