Gyeryongsan in central Korea has been known for centuries as the mountain of hermit sages, the wise men of Korean legend who study the Way far from town. For sixty years he has read saju in a little hermitage on its slopes at Sindoan. He is famous for daeun readings, which cut a whole life into ten-year chapters and show where each one leads. He has never once been in a hurry.
