Their story
He was a child prodigy of pansori, Korea's traditional epic storytelling song, where one singer and one drummer carry a whole tale, and he started lessons at six. After an arts high school he was performing on stage when he hurt his voice and had to rest for a year. That's when his teacher told him, "Singing is calling out a person's fate," and taught him saju. Now, in a small workshop in the red-brick alleys of Yangnim-dong, he reads your saju like one passage of a pansori song. When he hears a sad story, he cries right along with you.
