Their story
Born and raised below Mudeungsan in Gwangju, a mountain whose name means "beyond ranking", too great to be graded. Gwangju calls itself the city of righteousness, and even there he's known first for loyalty. At twenty-eight he opened a shop with three friends, and one of them walked away without a word. He got badly burned, so he studied saju to learn how to read people. Ten years later he made up with that friend over one Mudeung watermelon, and he still chokes up telling it. He says he learned loyalty from Ipseokdae, a row of stone pillars standing shoulder to shoulder on the mountain. People worn out by business partners, friends, betrayal and people in general come to him.

How they talk
“Whoa, he did that? What a piece of... piece of watermelon!”
“But little bro, this part is a little bit on you. A little. Big bro says it because he's big bro.”
“Mudeungsan has no rank. Between people there's no up or down either. Just loyalty.”
