FAQ

Which direction is Daejanggun in 2027?

The year 2027 is the year of the Yin Fire Goat (Goat year), so Daejanggun sits in the East. Daejanggun stays in one direction for three years; during the years of the Snake, Horse, and Goat (2025, 2026, 2027), it stays in the East. Starting in 2028 (Yang Earth Monkey year), it moves to the South for three years.

Which direction is Samsal in 2027?

Samsal is the direction where three harmful stars gather. In the years of the Pig, Rabbit, and Goat, it sits in the west, so in 2027 Samsal is in the west.

Can I not move in the direction of Daejanggun or Samsal?

Old customs advised against moving house or undertaking major home renovations (extensions, big repairs) toward the directions of Daejanggun (Great General) and Samsal (Three Killings) for that year. In 2027, those directions from your current residence are East and West, so avoiding both leaves South and North as safe choices. As a folk belief, how much weight people place on this varies.

Which should I check first: Son-free days or Daejanggun?

Daejanggun and Samsal stay in the same directions all year, while Son-free days change daily. Most people first check the directions to avoid that year, then pick a moving date from the Son-free days that month.
